AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON DENGUE FEVER – BY HEALTH DEPARTMENT, GOVT. OF TAMIL NADU @ SIGA

On September 19, 2019, an awareness programme on “Dengue Fever” was conducted by the Health Department, Government of Tamil Nadu at SIGA Polytechnic College.  The Zonal Health Officer and Health inspector explained in detail to the students about the prevention of Dengue Mosquito breeding, keeping the campus clean, symptoms of Dengue Fever and preventive measures to be taken along with photographs, short film on Dengue Fever to help the students understand better.  Nilavembu drinking water was given to students as a preventive measure.  400 students and 12 teachers participated in this programme.  The management, principal and the staff of SIGA Polytechnic College thank the officers from the Health Department, Government of Tamil Nadu for organising this awareness programme for the college.

SIGA Polytechnic College, It is an unaided Christian minority Institution affiliated to the Tamil Nadu State Board of Technical Education and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. SIGA was established in 1952, with just 20 students and a couple of old machines at Basin Bridge in North Chennai.

Sixteen years later, it was shifted to its present campus on Taylors Road in Kilpauk, in 1973, SIGA received Government recognition and was affiliated to the State Board of Technical Education.
In the year 2003, SIGA received the AICTE approval. Today it is a fully equipped Printing Institute with the state-of-art technology to meet all the requirements of modern printing industry.
