The college has an active Placement Cell along with the Career Development Centre which looks into the placement for its students. From the very beginning the SIGA lays greater emphasis on Industrial Training for the students. The objective of the SIGA Placement Cell is to help students identify their career goals and provide an edge into the present day competitive job market. The scope of work of Placement Cell extends from organizing workshops to providing internships to students in various organizations during summer breaks and preparing students for the final placements. In the past, the placement cell has conducted similar events in which several leading companies participated and recruited bright talents.
The Training and Placement Cell of the institute centrally handles Campus Placement for the students. The Cell provides complete support to the visiting companies at every stage of placement process. Arrangements for Pre-Placement Talks, Written Tests, Interviews and Group Discussions are made as per the requirements of the visiting companies.
Companies that wish to participate in the recruitment at SIGA Polytechnic college are required to indicate the job profile, preferred skill set and approximate Cost to Company by dropping a mail
to……………………….or by filling the Company registration form (http://……………….). Based on this
information, the schedule for the placement drive is fixed by the placement cell in consultation with the company. .the students are informed about the company and the job profile. .he interested students register for the placement drive.
On Campus:
The Companies can choose to give a pre-placement presentation. The entire procedure for recruitment is left to the company’s choice. All facilities and logistics for the recruitment will be arranged by the placement cell.
Off Campus:
Companies which are unable to visit the Campus are provided with the updated C4/2esumes of the registered students. The company can shortlist the students and call them for the recruitment process at their office. Post recruitment process the recruiting company is required to announce and intimate the college placement cell about the final list of selected candidates.
Activities Undertaken by the Placement Cell are:
- Formation of Students’ Placement Committees for final placement and also for getting industrial training and industry linked project work for students
- Preparation of Placement Brochure for final placement.
- Pre-placement visits (PPV) to the companies.
- Communication, networking and relationship building with the
potential recruiters - Invitation to potential recruiters to visit the Institute.
- Continuation of placement activities after the stipulated period,
till all the students are placed. - Grooming and training of the candidates for the placements so
that their chances of selection increase. - General follow-up, joining formalities and other administrative
activities.
