LEAP stands for ‘Learn, Earn and Pay’. This is a noble scheme started in 2008 for the SIGA students who cannot afford to pay fees for their training. The students who are admitted to the diploma in printing technology under the LEAP scheme learn the trade first and then pay the fees when they begin to earn some stipend. They are allowed to pay in installments as and when it is possible, within 3 years. Moreover, many of them opt to work part-time in printing and related industry to earn a pocket money for food and clothing.

In fact, this scheme has reduced the financial burden of their parents. It has encouraged self-reliance among students and has built confidence. Thanks to the friends and past pupils of SIGA who have supported this LEAP Scheme with their donations in the past. When the well runs dry, this fund has helped the college to meet their regular expenditure. However, when the college collects the fees, the fund returns to the LEAP account to replenish the resource for the next academic year to welcome the refreshers.

For us, education is of the heart. We trust our students even when they delay to pay. After all, now they belong to a big SIGA family.
